On February 18, 2013, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced $12.5 million in grants for 29 projects in 20 states to improve access to America’s national parks, forests, and wildlife refuges. The selected projects will help reduce traffic congestion and make it easier for millions of visitors to enjoy the nation’s scenic Federal lands. The funds are provided through the Federal Transit Administration’s Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in Parks program, which awarded $40.8 million for similar projects in January 2012.

Note: FY2012 program funds were awarded in two increments. The map shows all funds awarded for FY2011 and FY2012.
