Subject:  Department of Labor (DOL) Federal Register Publication - Amendment to Guidelines for Processing Applications for Assistance

 

Dear Transit Colleague:

 

DOL issued a Federal Register Publication on September 14, 2007 concerning an Amendment to Guidelines for Processing Applications for Assistance to Conform to Section 3013(h) and 3031 of the SAFETEA-LU and to Improve Processing for Administrative Efficiency.  The publication is included as an attachment to this email.  This is a notice of Proposed Rule.  The proposed revisions to existing procedures for processing grant applications under the Federal transit law are intended to ensure timely certifications in a predictable manner, and remain consistent with the transit law’s statutory objectives.  Comments for the proposed revisions to the guidelines must be received on or before October 15, 2007.
