Subject:  Federal Register Publication - Safety and Security Management for Major Capital Projects:  Notice of Final Circular

 

Dear Transit Colleague:

 

FTA issued a Federal Register Publication on June 21, 2007 concerning the Notice of Final Circular for the Safety and Security Management for Major Capital Projects.  This is a Notice of Availability of Final Circular.  In the final circular, FTA requires recipients with projects covered under 49 CFR 633 to develop a Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP), as a chapter or plan within the Project Management Plan (PMP).  In this notice, FTA provides a summary of the final circular and addresses comments received in response to the October 11, 2006 Federal Register Notice (71 FR 43280).  This notice can be retrieved online through the Department of Transportation Docket Management System, http://dms.dot.gov.  Click on simple search and enter docket number 25471 into the docket search area.
