Mass Mailout Number III-2007-47
Subject: Transportation Attorneys Meeting in Philadelphia July 8-11, 2007
Dear Transit Colleague:
FTA would like to bring to the attention of all Region 3 grantees, especially new grantees, that the Transportation Research Board (TRB) has scheduled its 46th Annual Workshop on Transportation Law in Philadelphia this summer. This is an excellent opportunity for FTA grantee attorneys to network with other attorneys in the transportation field – public and private, highway and transit – from around the country. The discussions are on current, relevant transportation issues. Often attorneys use the time to meet with their FTA regional counsel to discuss particular problems they might have at the time. Continuing Legal Education credits are offered.
On the social side, many attorneys bring their families and come a few days early to enjoy the location. There are many special events taking place in Philadelphia the week of July 8-13, 2007: the King Tut exhibit is at the Franklin Institute and the Royal Ballet will be at the Mann Music Center, just to name two. The TRB is planning a Tuesday special evening event at Longwood Gardens where there will be a concert and fountain display. They are also are planning to make it possible to tour some of the thousands of outside murals in the City under the Philadelphia Mural Arts program.
For further information please go to the TRB website at: www.trb.org. (Click on “Conferences and Workshops” and find the conference in July.) Please register early since the TRB low registration rate is until June 11 and then after that date it rises incrementally.
