Subject: Presentation of FTA's Course on Alternatives Analysis
Dear Transit Colleague:
FTA will be offering its course on Alternatives Analysis (AA) on November 6-8, 2007 in San Francisco. An alternatives analysis is the planning requirement for projects seeking New and Small Starts funding. This course describes a number of elements of alternatives analyses including FTA requirements. The course was last offered in Denver, CO, and Philadelphia, PA in September and November respectively. These courses were well attended, so FTA encourages you to register for the new offerings soon as the space is limited. The course will be taught by Don Emerson of PB Consult; Jim Ryan and Ron Fisher from FTA. Attached is the agenda from the Philadelphia offering. The agenda for the new offerings will be virtually the same.
A block of rooms has been set aside for the Serrano Hotel. Registrations can be made at www.regonline.com/125185.
FTA would like to note that AA course scheduled for April 10-12, 2007 in Washington, DC is nearly full.
FTA hopes you can attend this event. The last offerings seemed to be very well received.
Please feel free to distribute this throughout your organization as appropriate.
Sincerely,
Herman C. Shipman
Acting Regional Administrator
