Since September 11, 2001, 90 security-related projects have been authorized in the Cooperative Research Programs (CRP): 57 of these projects have been completed; 21 projects are in progress; and 12 projects have contracts pending or are currently in development. For your information and reference, a report is attached which provides information on over $8 million of formally coordinated Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) and the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) security-related research, as well as information on about $3 million in security-related projects developed under other initiatives managed under CRP, including Transit Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis (IDEA); legal studies; international studies; planning; Airport CRP; Hazardous Materials CRP; National Cooperative Freight Research Program; and the Commercial Truck and Bus Safety Synthesis Program.
