Each year, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) holds a number of State Management Review Workshops to provide you and other FTA grantees with up-to-date information about federal requirements and industry “best practices.”
As part of our continuous improvement efforts in FTA, the 2009 guidance has been completely rewritten to encapsulate all the circular changes related to Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). For the first time, it also incorporates guidance related to the Combined Review Program (Combined State Management and Triennial Reviews). Starting this year, the workshop addresses Section 5307 program requirements, in addition to addressing the requirements of the Section 5309, 5310, 5311, 5316, and 5317 program.
The Workshop is conducted by industry experts who share their knowledge of the State Management Review and Combined Review Programs, the latest federal regulatory changes, and the best practices in FTA Grants Management. You are also given a comprehensive workbook that will assist you in preparing for your next State Management Review or Combined Review.

For the Seattle workshop, interested parties should make hotel arrangements as soon as possible. Room rates at the Westin Seattle are available at $158/night plus tax for single occupancy until April 10. Consequently, we suggest hotel bookings immediately; cancellations, if needed, will be honored until 6 PM on May 5 (assuming a May 6 arrival). In addition to these workshops, a workshop will be held during the State Programs Meeting in Washington, DC, which is usually held the first or second week in August.
We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful training opportunity. Seating is limited, so please make your reservations as soon as possible by returning the reservation form.
