The National Transit Institute (NTI) is presenting the Characteristics and Planning of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) course in Seattle, Washington on February 25-26, 2009. This free course ($450 for consultants & contractors) is aimed at planners, engineers, and others involved in the transportation planning and decision-making process.
Concerns over urban mobility, limited public financial resources, and the costs of rail transit have prompted many transit agencies to re-examine existing technologies and to embrace creative ways of improving service quality in a cost-effective manner. This course provides an overview of the FTA document “Characteristics of Bus Rapid Transit for Decision-Making” supplemented with case study analysis and hands-on practice in exploring bus rapid transit alternatives.
If you are interested in attending, please go to http://www.ntionline.org/CourseInfo.asp?CourseNumber=ID030 and register online. Seating is limited for this course, so register early. For further information, please contact Annette Le at 206-220-4461, or email annette.le@dot.gov.
