The Office of Program Management and Oversight for the Region X Office has an opening for a permanent full-time General Engineer GS - 0801-09/11/12/13. The position will be to assist Senior Engineers in the management of the Regional Project Management Oversight Consultant (PMOC) Program. You will also provide engineering and project management assistance of a specialized and innovative nature to program managers, senior staff and grantees in the form of construction techniques, solutions to problems, innovations in procurement, etc., to insure that projects are properly designed and managed to achieve the approved purpose and are completed on schedule.

The ideal candidate for this position communicates effectively with transportation officials of all levels on a variety of issues to provide expertise in grant development and program management; negotiate and resolve matters in dispute; find solutions to problems; motivate; and advise on project status.
