The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will be offering its courses on Alternatives Analysis on February 5-7, 2008, in San Diego, CA and on July 22-24, 2008, in Seattle, WA. A course is also planned this spring at a location to be determined on the east coast.
An alternatives analysis is the planning requirement for projects seeking New and Small Starts funding. This course describes a number of the elements of alternatives analyses including FTA requirements. The courses were last offered in Washington DC and San Francisco last April and November, respectively.
All of our past offerings have been filled and had waiting lists, so we would encourage you to register soon if you are interested. The courses are taught by Don Emerson of PB Consult, and Jim Ryan and Ron Fisher from FTA Headquarters.
A block of rooms has been set aside for the Horton Grand Hotel (619-544-1886) in San Diego and the Mayflower Park Hotel (206-382-6991) in Seattle. Registration can be made at www.regonline.com/173277 for the San Diego workshop and at www.regonline.com/173279 for the Seattle workshop.
