The Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST), United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), is soliciting applications for funding Congestion-Reduction Demonstration Initiatives.  Proposals will be considered for entering into agreements with the USDOT to support congestion pricing along with complementary transportation solutions proposed by jurisdictions designated as recipients of Federal assistance. 

Funds made available to qualified jurisdictions under this initiative may include such sums as may be available for obligation in the USDOT’s discretion during Fiscal Year 2008, including funds designated by law to support the USDOT’s Congestion Initiative, as proposed in the President’s Fiscal Year 2008 budget.

Applicants wishing to become qualified jurisdictions for the purpose of this Notice must submit their applications by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007.  Information on the application process, including content and submission instructions, may be found in the Notice published in the Federal Register, Vol. 72, No. 218, on November 13, 2007; see pages 63951 through 63956.  The Docket reference numbers for this Notice are OST-2007-0004, FHWA-2007-0004, and FTA-2007-0004.
