The National Transit Institute (NTI) is presenting 2 teleconference classes (T-courses):

Practices in No-Show and Late Cancellation Policies for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit on April 19, 2007, will be of interest to members of transit agencies that provide ADA complementary paratransit, the disability community, and other stakeholders. With operating costs growing and all eligible demand for paratransit trips must be met, excessive no shows and late cancellations can adversely affect the efficiency and cost of the service. While many transit agencies responded with policies to address no-shows and late cancellations, their impact on the agencies as well as the riders has not been clear. This course will be presented by Rosemary B. Gerty of TranSystems Corporation, Norwich, VT.

Expert panelists discuss the topics during the first sixty-minutes of the teleconference; the last thirty-minutes are dedicated to open phones for questions from the audience.

If you are interested in attending this course, please follow this link http://www.ntionline.org/CourseInfo.asp?CourseNumber=LTT01-98B to register on line.

Uniform Report of DBE Awards or Commitments and Payment Requirements on May 10, 2007, includes documented monitoring and enforcement mechanisms to verify that the work committed to DBE’s at contract award is actually performed by the DBE’s. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant recipients are required to ensure compliance with DBE regulations. This course will be taught by Denise Bailey of Milligan and Co., who reviews transit grantees’ Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Title VI program implementation for the FTA. She will review how to properly fill out and submit semi-annual report.

If you are interested in attending this course, please follow this link http://www.ntionline.org/CourseInfo.asp?CourseNumber=LTT01-98F to register on line. With the reporting period for the June 1 semi-annuals about to close at the end of the month, we recommend registering early.

Ms. Bailey will review the listed topics during the first forty-five minutes of the teleconference; the last forty-five minutes are dedicated to open phones for questions from the audience.
