SUBJECT: Toolkit for Rural Community Coordinated Transportation Services

On February 9,2006, the National Transit Institute (NT!) in cooperation with APTA and TRB will be providing a free presentation related to providing coordinated transportation services in rural communities. The discussion, in the form of a telephone conference, will begin at 2:00 pm Eastern Time and will last for 90 minutes.
"T-Classes" are provided by NTI to address current topics and trends related to reports published by the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP). The referenced presentation will discuss TCRP Report and identify ways to improve ongoing coordination efforts. Topics within this discussion will include:
- Basic coordination concepts
- Problems that coordination addresses
- Goals for coordinated transportation services
- Coordination details-benefits, costs and barriers
- Implementing new coordination efforts
Practitioners and policy-makers who plan and implement transportation services in rural areas are encouraged to participate. The attached flier provides additional information and includes a registration form. Although free, pre-registration is required.
