Bus Efficiency Enhancements Research and Demonstrations
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $3.0 million of Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 research funds for innovative research, development, and demonstration projects targeting Bus Efficiency Enhancements, specifically enhanced Electrification of Accessories, and improvements in Thermal Management of Bus Bodies. All applicants must complete the supplemental form and attach it to their submission in GRANTS.GOV and submit a proposal electronically by midnight Eastern Time on September 20, 2013.
Eligible Applicants: Departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the Government, including Federal laboratories; State and local governmental entities; providers of public transportation; private or non-profit organizations; institutions of higher education; and technical and community colleges.
Teams must include key roles by individuals representing both:
(1) A public transportation agency and
(2) A bus manufacturer or supplier of relevant systems or components.
Teaming and collaboration is encouraged with other organizations that can add value.
Any agency intending to apply should initiate the process of registering on the GRANTS.GOV site immediately to ensure completion of registration before the submission deadline.
