This bulletin serves as notice of a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Technical Assistance Conference on Procurement. The conference will be conducted on January 31 February 2, 2012 in downtown Seattle, Washington.

The conference will be conducted at 915 2nd Avenue, Seattle, in the North Auditorium of the Henry Jackson Federal Building on the 4th floor.

The technical assistance conference is designed for transit professionals responsible for procurement management or managing federally funded projects and professionals responsible for contracting or purchasing transit service or the activities that support the transit service.

The conference is designed to help attendees broaden their understanding of the Federal procurement rules and regulations that shape and define their programs. Specifically, the requirements of FTA Circular 4220.1F,, and applicable statutory and administrative requirements will be discussed. Accordingly, we strongly encourage your attendance.

The conference will also address particular areas of interest related to procurement and the attached registration form allows you to identify such areas of interest. The lead instructor is Mr. James Harper, Jr, Director for the Office of Acquisition Management at FTA. Other instructors include representatives from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and representatives from industry who will contribute throughout the class.
