The Division, housed within the Research and Innovative Technology Administration’s (RITA) Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), serves as the primary training unit for FTA’s Office of Transit Safety and Security. TSI courses equip transit personnel with high performance skills needed to effectively operate, maintain, and manage public transportation systems. Their mission is “to provide the transit industry with timely and professional training to better ensure that employees operate with high standards of safety and security while contributing toward a system of greater mobility for the American public.”
