National Transit Institute (NTI) in collaboration with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), is pleased to announce its upcoming 90 minute webinar, “Uniform Report of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Awards or Commitments and Payment Requirements” on Monday, May 17, 2010 2:00–3:30 pm Eastern Time.

FTA grant recipients are required to ensure compliance with DBE regulations. This includes documented monitoring and enforcement mechanisms to verify the work committed to DBE at contract award is actually performed by DBE.

A key part of this monitoring process is the bi-annual submission of the Uniform Report of DBE Awards or Commitments and Payment Requirements. The next submission is due June 1, 2010. This webinar focuses on completing the report. Topics will include:

• Review instructions for completing the report including common questions that arise from grantees
• Illustrations of how to complete various scenarios (e.g. construction project work, activity funded from an agency’s operating budget, multi-year contracts)
• Discussion of issues and problems encountered with submissions

The webinar will be presented by Denise Bailey, Principal, Milligan and Company, LLC. Ms. Bailey teaches NTI’s DBE training course. In addition, she reviews transit grantees’ DBE and Title VI program implementation for the FTA. Participants will log in to the webinar to access the graphic content and dial in to an audio-teleconference. Ms. Bailey will address the topics listed above and then open the phone lines for questions from the audience.

The webinar is FREE but you must register to receive the log-in information. To register, go to http://www.ntionline.com/CourseInfo.asp?CourseNumber=TRI18-14.
