The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is pleased to announce the roll out of our first ever Bus Safety and Security Program web site at http://bussafety.fta.dot.gov.

The web site is one of three major initiatives currently being implemented by FTA's Office of Safety and Security to support state departments of transportation (DOT), their sub-recipients and small 5307 grantees. The web site is the culmination of ongoing coordination and collaboration with representatives from industry, state DOTs, the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and sister Federal agencies.

Site tools include:

Resource library that houses over 1,000 technical assistance documents that can be easily located and downloaded.
Confidential self-assessment instrument to assist transit providers in identifying their safety, security, and emergency preparedness strengths and needs.
Community forum module and many other helpful features.

Please visit the site today!
