The National Transit Institute (NTI) is presenting a FREE pilot course, “Risk Assessment for Transit Capital Projects”, ($300 for consultants and contractors) scheduled for September 14-15, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The objective of this two-day course is to provide an overview of the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) risk review requirements and process. This is a comprehensive course; however, the following pre-requisites are recommended:
- General knowledge of transit systems and common design and construction issues;
- Basic understanding of how New Starts transit development occurs within the context of the FTA funding assistance; and
- Experience with standard project metrics, such as estimating and scheduling.
This course is intended for managers, contract managers, designers, and builders who are undertaking a transit capital project larger than $300 million. However, please keep in mind that the content of this course is scalable for small and medium projects.
