ARRA Oriented State Management/Combined Review Workshop
Prior to the 2009 State Programs Meeting, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will host an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Oriented State Management/Combined Review Workshop. The workshop will be similar to our annual workshops with some minor modifications. We will focus our attention to the following:
- Overview of changes (process, technical, and policy)
- Common findings and suggested corrective actions
- State issues and concerns
- FTA Oversight of ARRA programs
Each year, FTA holds a number of State Management Review Workshops to provide you and other FTA grantees with up-to-date information about federal requirements and industry “best practices.”
As part of our continuous improvement efforts in FTA, the 2009 guidance has been completely rewritten to encapsulate all the circular changes related to SAFETEA-LU. It also, for the first time, incorporates guidance related to the Combined Review Program (Combined State Management and Triennial Reviews). Starting this year, the workshop addresses Section 5307 program requirements, in addition to addressing the requirements of the Section 5309, 5310, 5311, 5316, and 5317 program.
The Workshop is conducted by industry experts who share their knowledge of the State Management Review and Combined Review Programs, the latest federal regulatory changes, and the best practices in FTA Grants Management. You are also given a comprehensive workbook that will assist you in preparing for your next State Management Review or Combined Review.
The Workshop is scheduled for August 10-11 at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20036.
We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful training opportunity. Seating is limited, so please make your reservations as soon as possible by returning the reservation form.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop and the 2009 State Programs Meeting. Attached to this bulletin, are the registration form, overview, agenda, and the hotel information.
