| West Virginia University requested assistance to fund the upgrade of the computer control system on the Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit (MPRT), which serves its Morgantown campus.

| Status
| While the project is more appropriately a fixed guideway modernization project rather than a New Start project, Morgantown is a rural area and thus not eligible for these formula funds. It is not anticipated that Morgantown will specifically request additional Section 5309 New Start funds in the future.
Through FY 1997, Congress has appropriated $4.2 million in Section 5309 New Start funds to the study. |
