9/17/2014 FTA Joint Development Circular Outreach Session

On August 25, 2014, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) released its highly anticipated Joint Development Circular through the Federal Register. The Circular provides guidance to recipients of FTA financial assistance on how to use FTA funds or FTA-funded real property for joint development projects. FTA will host a webinar on September 17, 2014 to present the newly released Circular to the public and to discuss the application and review process for FTA-assisted joint development projects. Please join FTA’s Office of Budget and Policy for this two-hour webinar, which will cover the following topics:

  2. Circular Overview
  3. FTA Assistance for Planning and Capital Projects
  4. Real Property Considerations

NTI will be holding the Environmental Justice training course on September 29-30, 2014, in Los Angeles, CA.


Development of this training is sponsored by FTA’s Office of Planning and Environment in cooperation with the National Transit Institute. The training is intended to serve as guidance for practitioners, reviewers, and grantees on effective ways for integrating the consideration of Environmental Justice impacts throughout the transportation planning and project development / NEPA processes.


This training is designed to meet the needs of our grantees, while satisfying the requirements of Executive Order 12898 and U.S. DOT Order 5610.2(a) on Environmental Justice. The pilot is strictly limited to State DOT staff, RPO/MPO staff, and transit agency/provider staff.

10/15/2014 Buy America Transit Supply Chain Connectivity Forum
  • Purpose: The second Transit Supply Chain Connectivity Forum to be held, it will bring larger transit Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Tier 1 Suppliers of transit vehicles, such as buses and paratransit vehicles, together with smaller, qualified and interested U.S. manufacturers together in an effort to facilitate the use of a higher percentage of domestic suppliers in transit products and systems that will be funded, in whole or in part, with U.S. taxpayer dollars.
