The Obama Administration has put forward a bold surface transportation reauthorization plan to shore up our aging transit infrastructure while continuing to invest in new public transportation services to meet growing demand as our nation’s demographics change. The GROW AMERICA Act would invest $72 billion in public transportation over four years—nearly a 70 percent increase over MAP-21. The Act would build on MAP-21 priorities and strengthen our commitment to safety, state-of-good-repair, efficiency, performance, and underserved populations. The proposal addresses the challenges of a nation expected by grow by approximately 100 million residents by 2050.
