U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary E. Peters announced on August 14, 2007 she has selected five metropolitan areas across the country as the first communities to participate in a new federal initiative to fight traffic gridlock: 

  • Miami
  • Minneapolis
  • New York City
  • San Francisco
  • Seattle

The Urban Partnership Agreements are one of six components of the USDOT's overall National Strategy to Reduce Congestion.  For more information, please visit http://www.FightGridlockNow.gov
