The city will use $830,000 of the grant funds to replace two 35-foot buses and purchase bus parts. A total of $219,898 will be used to replace three paratransit vans, and $205,000 will be spent on surveillance cameras and mobile radios to enhance safety and security. The grant also includes $180,000 for operating assistance for the paratransit system. The balance of the funds will be used to renovate MET Transit’s bus wash station, including the installation of a water recovery system, a state-of-the-art cleaning process, and an undercarriage wash system.
