CATS will use the $3 million grant to upgrade a planned order of buses from diesel to hybrid technology. CATS' fleet and financial plans call for the replacement of 1998, 1999 and 2007 year diesel buses with new diesel technology in fiscal year 2012. This project will upgrade the replacement buses to hybrid technology.
