* These grants encourage transit agencies to develop and implement new or improved transit asset management systems and cost-effective ways to manage and maintain the condition of their systems. Public transportation asset management involves a strategic and systematic process of operating, maintaining, and improving physical assets to achieve and sustain a state of good repair at minimum cost.
