FTA To Host New and Small Starts ANPRM Webinar

FTA To Host New and Small Starts ANPRM Webinar

On Thursday, June 24, at 2:00 PM ET, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will host an informational webinar to explain the Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) which seeks public comment on how to change the way major transit project proposals seeking federal funding are rated and evaluated.

The ANPRM seeks comment from the transit riders, local and state governments, and other interested stakeholders, on the agency’s proposal to take a more holistic approach to evaluating the cost-effectiveness of New and Small Start projects, as well as economic development and environmental benefits.

FTA Deputy Administrator Therese McMillan and senior FTA staff will be available online to explain the ANPRM, which was published in the Federal Register on June 3, and to take questions from the public. Register online for the webinar here.

The FTA has scheduled six informational outreach seminars in various cities and the June 24 webinar prior to the August 2, 2010 deadline to submit comments.
